The T2 is a bit better for action photography. Here's the differences - copied & pasted form Mark U's answer in http://photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00EoW2
---
* The T2 has boxes in the viewfinder that flash over the area that the camera has focussed on, whereas the K2 has a display below the viewfinder image that shows the same thing, but instead of flashing the display continues to show the indication of the point focussed on. Not a huge difference, and there are advantages to either version.
* The T2 narrows your choice of additional flash units somewhat - it only works with Canon's EX units or a couple of Sigmas in its most sophisticated through the lens flash metering mode, or with flashes that control their own output. The K2 allows a wider choice of units that will work with through the lens metering of flash (which can mean savings because you could use a cheaper unit that would be just as good in practice). You should aim to have a flash that tilts and swivels and works with through the lens (TTL) flash metering with the camera - all essential for close shots to get nicely lit pictures.
* The T2 allows you to set follow focus mode (known as AI Servo) independently of using the Sport setting (the only way you can use this on the K2), which is a slight advantage when you need to track action.
* The T2 can burn through film faster - shooting up to 3 frames/sec compared with 1.5 frames/sec for the K2.
* The T2 has an easier to use way of choosing a specific focus point via cross keys on the back of the camera - this can be handy if you need to change it quickly

You could also consider going digital. The Rebel XT was discontinued earlier this year, but it's still a very impressive camera. BeachCamera.com has a few left in stock for just $515 with free shipping.

between the main important exterior differences is that the T2 has a steel lens mount and the K2 has a plastic mount. in step with that distinction on my own, i in my opinion could elect the T2.
