My female American Pit dug her way out of her kennel while in heat. This is not a case of poor ownership so spare me your "get her spayed" advice and comments. I want to find good HOMES for her pups. Animal control and the dog pound is NOT an option! As she is pure breed and thought to mate with a labador retriever.

I hope somone will want her pups.

Does anyone know a good website that allows a person to GIVE free pups to a good home? They are well fed, good natured and beautiful dogs.

Please respond ASAP.

Thanks: Shalvia, sp, paintedra, mcdannell, clowmy, MotherBea, nightowl_, chanks504, and nokhada5 for the great answers!

Boo to the 2 that can't read.

Good advice from several and getting their shots is a good idea. That is $84 each so maybe asking for that amount in return for them will offer a better selection of those that are sincere? If not then I will just keep them.

I will call my local shelter? or is it the Human Society that finds good homes and NOT kill them? so NO FREE PUPPIES, that was a loud and clear message!

Now who gets the 10 points?

Please do one thing, do not give the pups away.

Giving pups away promotes them to go to people who can not afford a pup, or is going to feed the pup to other critters (yes it does happen!), and/or they can be used in fighting (being the practice dog that the main dog practices on usually causing death of pup).
Around here mix pups go for a good price. Why not take them to your shelter? They will find them appropriate homes. More then likely they will end up here anyway if people get them who can not afford to pay for a pup...
You can save the money for the mothers health, or donate it ...
Hope this helped you some?

Do not give them away for free!!!!

As you said, they are beautiful dogs, so why would you just give them to anybody? This breed/mix needs to be put in the proper care or they will turn out to be another statistic for the BSL. Take some care as to where your pups are heading off too...make sure the new owners know what it means to own a "Pit bull" and what they need to do to be good ambassadors of the breed.

Plus, in the wrong hands they can end up in the shelters after all. Abuse or misundertsanding the breed are 2 main reasons why these dogs end up in the shelters...which are over populated already.

petfinder.com

Make sure you screen the potential owners so they don't go to a bad home. You also might want to consider asking a $50 "adoption" fee that you will refund when the new owners have the dogs spayed or neutered.

I found a home for a mixed breed german shepard puppy with them, asked a small adoption fee based on what I recommended to you. The puppy was in a new home within 2 weeks. And they did get him neutered.

Yes this is a case of poor ownership, your dog shouldnt be able to dig out of anything especially a pitbull. You knew she was in heat the dog should be inside at this time unless you want her pregnant there is a shot they can get to abort the pregnancy. Being you are not all that responsible you should definatley fix the dog. petfinders.org. Oh goodie some more pit mixes

Lets see here? Yup, get your dog spayed. If not poor ownership then why are you trying to give away puppies?? C'mon, 5 to 6 million dogs and cats are euthanized each year because people do not have their pets spayed or neutered. Think about it.

Try Craigslist.org
Don't forget to mention that they are Pit MIXES. I wouldn't suggest free though. Maybe a small adoption fee.
Make sure to mention if they've had their puppy shots, or not.
