Actually you might find it more beneficial if you read the Bible at a more appropriate time of the day when you are more awake, since if you are tired you will not get anything out of reading it then, and you might as well not read it then, or it is the same as not even bothering to read it. But if you want to go to sleep you might be better off by putting on some soft music that will help you get to sleep it works for me.

Why do people feel the need to show disdain for something they have no part in? Not to answer a question with a question, but why not just back off and let people who enjoy the Bible enjoy the Bible without sarcasm?

Try the book of Numbers in the Old Testament - I have a hard time getting through that one without falling asleep.

Yes, it can be. I find it comforting, but I suppose that some might be bored to sleep.

I like to read the Bible before going to sleep naked...just wanted everybody to know that! At least once in a person's life, that person should read the Bible while naked. :P It just makes it that much more comfy and cozy at beddy-bye time.

Not for me because I tend to be very investigative, and even if I pass by a seemingly minor scripture I probe it to see if there are any greater truths to it.
The best way to fall asleep is by watching old Chinese fighting movies without the translation.

Yeah not so much. Wouldn't you worry about drooling on the open pages and then waking up with like Levitcus stuck to your beard?
I suppose anything that you can get in paperback is okay sleepytime reading, but those big hardbound bibles could smother you.

IF YOUR QUESTION IS GENUINE, THEN I SAY YES. BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE THE BEST THING TO HAVE IN YOUR MIND BEFORE FALLING TO SLEEP. NOW, IF YOUR QUESTION IS SUPPOSED TO BE SARCASTIC, THEN I SAY, IF YOU DON'T READ THE BIBLE, THEN YOU ARE ASLEEP.
