Well I guess it wouldn’t take long for the electricity to be turned off, the phones, the water and the buildings to fall in disrepair.

We would have to end our food pantry and all our other community programs for those in need.

I suppose we could find a vacant parking lot or empty lot to meet and just agree not to do anything more to help out our neighbors in need.

That would be a shame though since we are trying to expand the programs we offer our community.

In my church people just give what they can. There’s no pressure. But somehow there is quite a desire to give when we know that our money and time is doing so much good.

My feeling is that if you can't give cheerfully, you shouldn't give at all.

Optional? Not in my church lol i wish.

if every single worshipper decides to opt out from now on then the church won't get the necessary repairs it needs. How will the rent be paid? Oh and the preacher won't be able be drive a Mercedes Benz and his wife won't be able to afford a beautiful fur coat and the best of suits. Sounds like they will have normal lives to me.

Tithing I don't think is optional. If you belong to a church that interprets the bible literally, then you have to give 10% of what you earn to your church. It is making preachers rich. You give their tithe and then you give whenever the collection plate is passed around. Ridiculous!!! People ar just helping them lead abetter lifestyle than the giver has.

What?! No more send me money and I will pray for you on 6 channels of my cable.. Whoo... what would that do? Would we get more educational Channels?
Would the Pope have to pay for his room and board?
I think what would happen is there would be a drop in the 60 churches in one town act that seems to be going on. I think that the massive churches that have been built on what could have been farm land might go back to farm land and people could go back to the way it was and have their faith taught at home.

Tithing is by no means optional!! It is a must that you do it! If every person were to opt out of it. God would hold every single person responsible, and that would not be nice!!

Oh my! It would be truly horrid. The whole bottom would fall out of the religion market. That could have serious repercussions. They would have to sell artworks and eventually real estate to continue to support "missionaries". And eventually, deprived of succor, the missionaries themselves would run out of ammuni, how do you say it? ministry to the heathens. I shudder to think.
Oh wait, it's just an open window.

There will likely be a lot less heat and air conditioning in the churches, probably not much electricity... but people will still preach the Gospel.
