PERMS ARE FOR THE 80's
yes they are, if you want to curl your hair, use a curling iron, it will look so much better then a perm. trust me!!!

It depends...
IF YOUR HAIR IS SOFT:
You should probably get a perm with highlights... it will look great. It would look better if it was without the perm, though. It could go both ways. Im not saying that perms are ugly.
IF YOUR HAIR IS FRIZZY:
You should defenetly not get a perm. No offence, but your head will look like a giant fuzzball. Also If youre hair is frizzy you could ude Pantene or John Frieda. They work best on soft hair, but they have certain products for frizz.

Straight and highlights. Perms are not in style anymore! Unless you get the "wavy" slightly curly perm.
I'd still go for straight, that way you have options.

I have perm and highlights - It a bit dryer than normal - but if you use a good conditioner you'll be all set. Using a curling iron daily is way worse on your hair.

Well, if it's straight you can always curl it with a curling iron at the ends which looks really pretty. But, a perm has to be curly all the time and it can really damage your hair. I don't recommend it!
