I'm pretty outgoing but when it comes to the guy I like I am so shy. I feel like the shyness will ruin our chances because what he likes in me is my confidence. When I'm around him I just loose that. What can I do to get over it?

I'm shy, too. And the thing that makes me less shy when with the boy I like is thinking that if I lose this opportunity, a better one may never come, I might never find a guy like him, etc. And I mean, really what do you have to lose? If it doesn't work out, it just doesn't. And you know what? I think that sometimes we feel like we are going to humiliate ourselves and that's why we're so shy. But truth is, the people that we actually feel humiliated by don't think about how lame we were and things like that. I realized that sometimes I look back at times that I felt completely humiliated but when I ask someone who was present at the time about it, they had completely forgot about it. The point is, when we feel embarassed in any way, it's usually just something inside our head which no one else cares or thinks about, just you. So get the courage and go out there talk to the boy you like! Good luck!

Well im shy because i have some things i dont want people to know so i keep to myself. Some people might also be shy because they dont feel good enough, or they feel alone or afraid to show there true colors.

Shyiness usually comes from a feeling of inferiority or inadequacy. Lack of social interation (practice) can also be a factor.

I think shyness stems from insecurity.

just be yourself. as long as you smile a lot & you appreciate his gestures, then, just give the rest time.
