Check out a depression web site see how many of the symptoms you have. If you say yes to most of them go see a psychologist,
try your best to be strong,It's life a lot of ppl end up getting hurt or losing a love one, but life does go on,you just have to give your self time. look at this a if it is making you stronger, learn from your mistakes, and love your self.turn every negative thought in to a positive on,there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Try your best to make your self strong and feel normal again, but if you just can't than that's how you know if you need pills. pills that the psychologist will give you are very safe(ssri pills) like Zoloft. there are lots of different ones. if u decide to go to a doctor don't be scared to tell them everything on your mind because the Doctor is there for you to help you and fix you.

Pills are only used for someone who has been depressed for a long time - Usually a couple months or longer. I think you should see a doctor as he can make the proper diagnosis. I've delt with severe manic depression, and talking to the doctor was the best thing I ever did. However, don't expect pills to be a quick fix for your depression. Chances are if your are really deeply depressed, in terms of having depression that doesn't go away on it's own, you might have to try a few medications to see what is right for you. Also, if your depression stems deep enough, you might be referred to a counselor which isn't a bad thing. You said that "you don't want to do anything anymore" and this is usually a sign of deep depression. Here is a couple of websites where you can take questioners online to help you decide how bad your depression has gotten...

Well, as someone who's gone through some very similar experiences - it sounds like you're simply having a really hard time right now. And your feelings are totally justified.
I know that its really hard, and painful, and honestly depressing, but I don't think you need medications.
Talk to friends, family - express how you feel, sometimes sharing those feelings reduces the pain.
To make things worse, its the holidays, and a lot of people tend to get depressed at this time of year, especially when a girlfriend or boyfriend has left them (I know that one - going into the holidays single sucks).
If the feelings persist for a long time (the next couple of months for instance) see a doctor.
I think you'll be ok.
And my sympathies,
-dh

Im gonna answer, using my own experiences. In life, there are many frustrations, and let downs. Im sorry to hear of your recent troubles, but you will get through it, I promise. Right now, your hurting, but this is what will happen. Time will heal your wounds, it will. I would like to think that you have people that you can trust enough to help you through this time, its rough, when you have nobody. But, listen. One day, you will wake up in the morning, and you willsee the sun shining, and you will stop for a moment, and say, wow, Im ok.
Beleive in yourself, and you will be just fine.

Well, coming from someone who is on Prozac, trust me, avoid medication as long as you can, lol. Getting a prescription for something like this wouldn't be easy, you'd have to go to a therapist and then to a nurse practitioner and then they'd evaluate your mental stability, then decide whether or not to put you on meds. And, even then, the medication doesn't normally start to work right away, it can take up to six months. IF your not feeling any better, ask your parents to take you to a therapist, believe me, it will help you sort out your feelings and if you are depressed, they may put you on medication. Pills are kind of a last resort. For me, I had to therapy at the age of thirteen and it started to help, but I attempted suicide,so THEN i was put on Prozac. I've on it ever since. It's helped. But whether or not you need hugs or drugs is truly up to a professional. Ask for help if you need it.

I take them myself. And in case you decide on them don't experience undesirable. Your no longer reckoning on pills to stay. you decide on specific food in nutrients to function, and in specific circumstances because of the fact of a chemical imbalance (which such as you suggested isn't very uncommen. And the reason of many of now a days is through each and all the recent discover ways to bigger diagnose the priority) or trauma on your existence. I beleive I even have the two. Chemical imbalance and that i had a frightened breakdown final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. And no offense to Valerie who replied this question yet... You DO could take them contiuously. in any different case it could make you worse. once you're taking an antibiotic you are able to no longer take it on and rancid. It won't help. Your physique desires the consistent stability to artwork exact. and not all drugs are addictive. they have come alongside way with drugs. Ask your healthcare expert. If the script you r on is an addictive one i'm specific he/she will positioned you on something distinctive in case you fairly need. in any different case because of the fact they are are maximum of distinctive meds obtainable, they positioned you on that distinctive script for a reason. additionally choose to characteristic... this does not make you a pill popper. pill poppers are people who take pills, one or a number of, like drugs. They over due them and do it to experience extreme or "numb" themselves.

If your feeling 'down' hasn't lasted more than two weeks or doesn't interfere with your routine activity, then it's not clinical depression yet but just a normal reaction to stress. Relaxing with family and friends will do you lots of good, and help you tide over these feelings. However if it's otherwise... then you should see a doctor.!

I think that you need a BIG hug, and someone to talk to that you can trust. Talking usually helps everything!! If things don't get better in a month or two then see a doctor and see what they say.
