How naieve. We spend our lives trying to make God smile. And how the hell will we know if God is smiling? Talking to you is like talking to someone who always has a half smile on their face and a glazed look in their eyes. All your questions have a central theme: "Why don't we just be nice to all God's children and stop the judgement because it isn't nice. Afterall, God will smile down on us and we will all be happy." God would HATE a world of wuss's like that. He wants people to have passion, to get educated and question authority and demand accountability amongst other things that "really matter." Sorry, buy your questions are inane and not at all researched.

You can make God "smile" by doing what you can to love God and love your neighbor. These are the things that matter as you live your life.

By being a good person, we make God smile. That's the key thing that we have to do. Be a good person, help your neighbor, and God will smile.

The right motivation for worshiping the Creator. God looks at our hearts and searches for hearts turned towards Him. It should not be for material gain, or any other reason but that we really love Him and seek Him out every day. If we have a relationship with the Lord, we will talk to Him and seek to make time for Him each day. If we spend the day dwelling on the things of God, we will come to know Him and he will come to dwell with us in our daily walk. I believe if we acknowledge God in all our activities each day, this is pleasing to Him.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I would think the best way to make God/s smile is by living an honest and compassionate life.

Why would a God smile? That implies that he can be surprised, and that means that he is not much of a God if he does not even know what people are going to do.

I think God delights in worship and praise. I also think He delights when we are perfectly honest about our sins and our failings and bring them before Him. He delights when we remember to let someone else go first or any time you stop and think about His word, and then make a decision based on it, rather than on your feelings or needs at the moment, that is pleasing to God. And of course, if you believe in His son and pursue knowledge of Him...that is very, very pleasing to God!
