As a subject nation, Judea was not allowed to have their own army. It wouild be the Roman legion or nothing. Most likely nothing. As a rabbi he would seek a religious exemption.

If Jesus HAD TO DO National Service. Probably in the Ha-Mosad le-Modi'in u-le-Tafkidim Meyuhadim, or The Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations, which is here in the US referred to as Mossad. As far as we know, Jesus was no warrior.
