I don't think it should be banned and I'm a christian, I go to The Salvation Army church, anything in excess is a sin so if someone gets drunk then yes but just to have a drink with dinner is not a sin, but for me it would be a sin becuase I sign a paper called The Articles of War stating that I would not drink and that was a promise to God.

For some, the Bible even recommends the moderate use of alcohol as a stomach medicine. Jesus turned the water into wine which he would not have done if it was a sin to drink it. Self-control is a fruitage of the spirit and as long as a person can really keep control, God does not label it as sinful.

Actually alcohol should not be banned in any religion. Any more the sleeping with 4 legged animals is banned in the quran. Sure is a holy faith you have there.

My religion doesn't have the concept of sin and alcohol is not banned---in fact, it is often used as an offering to our deities. Still, neither my husband nor I drink much (maybe two glasses of wine a year). We sometimes buy alcohol for our rituals but don't have a desire to drink it ourselves.

Roman Catholics and alcohol are too intertwined to ban the elixir from our services.
Irish and Germans, Italians - you can't name a people that would find this unacceptable.
Ha, the amount is supposed to be small, so we don't sin. We have to control our baser desires is all.
Individuals not policy are at fault, not the alcohol.

Actually the wine in RC services has no alcohol, but few believe this, so I let them believe what they want. I can't FORCE people to do or believe anything.
P.S.
You knew this about RC anyway.

I don't think having a drink of alcohol is a sin. Drunkeness is however.
Jesus turned water into wine.
Later in the New testament Paul tells Timothy to have a little wine for his upset stomach.
Something to ponder for you.
Muslims claim that Jesus was a prophet of God. If drinking is a sin, why would a prophet of God creat wine for people to drink?

If someone else wants to follow a religion that bans alcohol that is fine with me.
Or if someone else wants to follow a religion that allows alcohol that is fine with me.
Christianity teaches that getting drunk from alcohol is wrong, however it doesn't teach that drinking alcohol itself is a sin.

Like I said in the other question....only GOD and you know what is bad or what is good.....if you are asking if alcohol is banned with my beliefs.....it's like this.....I have 3 or 4 beers right now in my fridge, right?...they have been there nearly 2 weeks...I drink one once in awhile to help with my mild kidney problem...and I do NOT feel bad whatsoever for doing it....but say I went out...got beastly drunk and committed an embarassing moment for myself, or got into trouble...then I might think it's time to cut alcohol completely out of my life....

No.
And here's why-
God gave humans free will.If they choose not to do so,then that is their will.If they choose to do so,it's also their will.
I like beer and hard cider as much as anyone else, but like materialism,it doesn't run my life.Moderation in things is the key to a good life.
Besides,America tried banning alcohol in a time when folks were way more religious than they are now,and we see how long THAT lasted.

God created sugar sweet grapes and put a coating of yeast on the outside. They ferment naturally when they burst. If God didn't intend this to happen, why did God create it that way!
Jesus drank wine at the last supper and told us all to remember him in the future when we do this again (at Passover or Pesach).
While Jews are allowed to use Water or Grape Juice in the tradition, Jesus used wine. I follow his tradition.
Wine is not a creation of Man, but of God, otherwise God shouldn't have put Yeast on the outside of Wine skins!
Why, by the way, are there so many Heroin making poppie fields in Muslim Nations. Do Muslims condone addictive drugs!
Mao executed all the Opium growers and users when he came to power. He outlawed drugs and enforced it.
The Poppie fields are consider a Cash Crop and are suspected of being used by Talaban operatives for funding operations. Would Allah approve of Jihad using Alchol or Drug profits as a funding tool!
