I actually know a guy that has two phones for work. It is possible, but highly unlikely anyone really needs two. There are people that have two, one a work phone (because they are on call) and the other is their personal cell phone. People on call could be city workers, police officers, repair technicians, doctors, etc.

My husband has 2 cells at one time. One is his work phone and the other is his personal phone. He is not supposed to use his work phone for personal calls and we check in with each other through out the day to make sure each other is safe and to tell one another I love you.

Very rare case. I have heard of a person having 2 cell phones to take advantage of subscription plans for overseas calls and local calls as well as for text messaging.

I don't know why. Why do they need even one cell phone? What's so important that they can't wait to get home to use the regular phone. I understand the part about having one for emergencies though. Who wants to stand in line at a bank or grocery store with someone speaking too loudly on their cell behind you? No consideration there.

My co-worker has two cell phones and it drives me nuts.
If your life is so busy and complicated you need two cell phones, I think you need to lighten your load a bit.

It's possible that one was a business line for/from his company. The other could have been his personal cell.

Actually, I often carry two. One is for "business" and the other is a # that no one but my family has and is for emergencies only. My business line is flooded with calls constantly. There's no way my family could get me if they needed me. So, I carry two.

Eh hmn. One could be for his wife the other for his mistress.
One could be strictly for work and the other for family and friends.
One could have been his friend's that he was using because his was running out of batteries.
One could have been his wife's while she was in the bathroom.
Etc.
