Darwin lived most of his adult life as an agnostic. But what does it matter? A scientist's observations and scientific interpretations are completely irrelevant to his religious beliefs. A Christian scientist, a Muslim scientist and a Buddhist scientist can all observe the same event, and assuming equal levels of scientific training, all interpret it the same way - according to the scientific principles involved, not according to their religious beliefs.

could be, I am not sure. I do believe he was a wacko and if you study what he wrote about evolution, you would discover that his thoughts are very out dated by cultural changes, which would surely wipe out his theory as having any chance of being true. So he was very wrong and that is why you don't see too many people bragging today that they are big on darwinism. If he were here today, he would be made to look like a fool on any talk tv show because intelligent people would laugh at his rediculous theory of evolution.

Darwin was a preacher who did not like the idea of evolution, and did not believe it until the evidence was overwhelming. He reluctantly began to believe.
