I am no certain denomination of any religion, but what I remember growing up (in a Christian environment) was that "sowing" was like what you said, did, or put into action...then "reaping" is getting back what you put out by saying or doing what you did.....kinda confusing to me....lol...hope it helps anyways...

As in you reap what you sow? In a spiritual sence of course.
If you plant the seeds you will get a harvest. What kind of harvest do you want? What ever you put into the field is what you will get out of it.

In my mind it makes perfect sence but to get the thoughts out here is almost impossible for me. I do not have the gift of evangelism. My gift is service. And I am much better at planting the seeds than harvesting the crops, if you know what I mean. I can tell you what I think, but I can't persuade you that I am correct.

When you sow harmony and forgive others, eventually you will reap (collect the growth from those seeds) and you will notice that others are more likely to forgive you when you make a mistake and your relationship with them will be more harmonious.

Try the reverse and see what happens. Be disharmonious with someone and you will reap their being disharmonious toward you.

consequently the saying, "You will reap what you sow."

Hello!

"Reaping" and "sowing" are agricultral terms that we also use to talk about what happens in life.

In agriculture, when you're "sowing", you're planting seeds; when you're "reaping", you're taking in the harvest from the seeds you planted (sowed).

"Sowing" and "reaping" also apply to life.

"Sowing" refers to what you do in the world and "reaping" refers to what you get back as a result of what you did. If you show (sow) compassion to others, people will show compassion to you (reap). If you show hate toward others, you'll reap the same from others. If you smoke or do drugs, you reap sickness, etc.

You get the idea! ;)

I hope this helps!

In the christian way of thinking about it, it is basically the great commission, but in different words. Sowing is planting the word in non-believer's mind.heart. Reaping is something we as humans can't do. it's Gods job. It's when the people accept Christians, and are accepted in the kingdom. I hope that makes sence. <><

From my understanding it's kind of like karma. I don't know quiet what you mean (you didn't give any details), but reaping means you "reap" what you "sow"

Let me express this to you in an example:

Jane Doe goes to the store and sees someone outside asking for something. She gives the person a little money and talks to them for a few minutes b4 going on her way.

The next day, Jane Doe gets a $500 check in the mail from a friend who owed her money.

((That probably won't happen, but hey...))

Or like this

John Smith walks past needy people each and every day. He ignores them with all his might.

After he passes his 20th person, the goverment collects what he owes in back taxes.

Sorta like that.

Yes, I'm not a farm kid, but the concept is understandable.

Sowing is planting a seed or idea.

Reaping is harvesting the crop from the seed, or the result of the idea that "harvests" a new product/policy.

What you sow is what you reap - multiplied 30, 60, 100 times as much. Whether it be corn, or wheat or hatred, or greediness, or love, or kindness - just be patient and see.

Yes, reaping is something you obtain, and sowing is what someone did. Thus the saying, you reap what you sow.

They are farming terms, reaping means to cut and harvest using a scythe or a sicle (hence the Grim Reaper) and sowing means to spread and plant seeds.
