My parents won't let me wear black. They find it ' mournful '. What do I do?

I dont own any black. They wont buy and I don't get an allowance. And yes, I'm rather on the emoish side, but still. They know i"m not going suicidal.

Wear black. Wear whatever you want. It's not like you're going to a funeral.

Actually a lot of people this black is for funerals, then some think it makes them look sexy and even more thinks that it makes them look slim. I would say right now just accept what your parents are saying, because if this is the your only problem with them you are in good shape. Give them time, maybe they will change their mind after seeing some of your friends in black. At least if they are not looking mournful or dead.. Look at it this way, when you are on your own you can wear what you like. Right now, just try to get your friends in own presenting themselves to your parents in black. As if they see that it is not so negative, maybe this be helpful.

Hmmm...Do a chit-chat,like start of with explaining it to them about how you understand what they're trying to say, but then you tell them that a child should get a chance for some things, like how the worst thing would happen is that people will look at you for a second. You explain to them that wearing black is harmless. If that doesn't happen, then ask them what they wanted to do when they were your age. Like something their parents wouldn't let them do that they thought was harmless.Try it as a plan B.

Explore why you want to wear black. maybe if you explain to them that you like to wear black because you feel thiner and there for more confidant in it or that there is this really cool music scene your into like emo or punk and that black is reflecting that then they'll ease up. Make it clear that it is just self expression and that your not depressed or contemplating suicide, you just want to wear black every now and then. They should ease up, but you know what if they don't it's kind of a their house, their rules thing and you'll be eighteen and able to do whatever you want soon enough.

Good Luck.

Never heard of such a thing. Black is a great color to wear. It looks sharp if worn correctly. Perhaps they think you're looking goth these days? Then I understand why they won't.

They are probably worried that you are wearing black because you are depressed. Try explaining to them that you want to wear black for fashion and not self-expression.

Does that make sense?

Reason- most likely cause they're trying too make themselves think that your the perfect happy non black wearing child. they dont want too think that you could be a little dark sometimes. that you have actual dark sad emotions like normal humans do. so **** em, wear black! show them that its ok, your still they're same little child.
either that or they're racist! -lol-

-good luck!
