Sometimes it hurts and sometimes its just plain irritating.
take your mind on a trip out there and allow it to roam into meditation of some kind. Or the Tattoo artist will talk to you and take your mind off of it.
Do you have sensitive Skin?
Whats your pain threshhold .
At the beginning it is a really strange sensation but well worth the pain and irritation. if you need music to take your mind away bring some . Its done very quickly anyhow. And the tattoo artist I had paused in between and let the skin numb out. After a while the skin does go a little numb which is great becuase then.......
once that happens its full stream ahead.
NO pain No Gain. It won't hurt that Much.

Tattoos hurt more on areas that are overall more sensitive. This would include the ankle. All tattoos hurt quite a bit but the ankle will be worse than say, your arm.
Your threshold for pain may quite possibly be greater than most people's however and it won't hurt very bad at all.

I have never gotten a tattoo before, but my cousin got one on his back. He said it hurt like a mother f u c k e r. Im guessing if it her like a b i t c h, then it will hurt on your ankle too.

It will depend where on your ankle this tattoo will be.
If it is one or near your ankle bone, then yes it will hurt.
You should opt to get your tattoo where your skin is the toughest, this will lessen the pain.

NO! It does NOT hurt. Piercings hurt worse than getting a tattoo...

my experience with tattoos is somewhat limited. i only have two. however, i am told that the most painful places to get one is directly over bone. i believe it. my second tattoo is an inch over my hood. it's all bone down there. ouch. the ankle can't be that bad.

It doesn't hurt that bad at all. I have two. One on my ankle, and one on the back of my neck. My neck hurt way worse, however.

tattoo's do hurt a bit - but- no you wont be rolling on the floor in pain. If you get one where's there's more fat? it hurts less .
