Some vets do and some don't. My vet does but when I had my dog spayed she let me bring her home the same day. I told her I would keep the dog confined and get up every few hours to check on her. I figured she would be more comfortable at home in her own environment plus the vets office only has someone coming in and checking on them not staying all night long with them. Talk to your vet and find out if they have someone there all night and then try reasoning with him or her and letting them know you will keep the dog confined and quiet. Good luck.

Some vets has a policey to keep them over night. At my vet she decides if they go home the same day by who the owner of the pet is. My dobies came home the same day. If your vet lets you bring the dog home just make sure she doesn't run or jump for a couple of days. Good luck with your little girl.

Most vets keep the females overnight for observation due to spaying being such an invasive procedure. The males however usually go home a few hours after surgery.

in maximum circumstances, confident. I used to artwork at an animal wellness center, and that i additionally labored for a quick era at an animal defend ( the no-kill style) and while the female dogs are spayed or the boys are neutered, it always demands that they stay interior the wellness center in one day. the clarification in the back of it somewhat is to be sure that the animal recovers from the anesthesia used interior the surgical operation with out problems, and that there are no surgical problems. Animals in a wellness center are nicely cared for-you could ask your vet while you're worried approximately this. each and all the female dogs I labored with continuously got here back from the wellness center the morning after surgical operation, with out problems.

No, they don't normally keep the dog overnight. My vet did because I asked them to. Too many things can happen in the first 24 hrs after surgery and I wanted her where she could be watched by a professional.

I just had my dog spayed about a month ago and she came home the same day, just a couple hours later really. It's definitely not necessary. I think it's just a ploy to get more dough out of ya.

The Vet where I take my 3 dogs spayed all of them and kept them over night as it was a policy of their's to make sure they are fine and healthy.
I think it's a good idea; my dogs had no problem. It saves another trip to the vet if something goes wrong!

Different vets have different policies. It also depends on the size of the animal, whether the animal is in heat when she is spade. The time of day the animal is spade. If she is spade in the morning there is a greater likelihood of their letting her come home that night. Many vets prefer the dog go home the same day so they are in familiar surroundings but they will only do this if it is safe for the dog.

No, not all vets keep the dog overnight. It only happens in some cases when either the dog is too sick still to come home, or it is simply easier for them to stay the night.
