that won't go away. I try to prick them with a pin head but because the area is so tender, I can't seem to get rid of it. Does anyone have any remedies to get rid of those white pockets (tiny, like a pimple) that won't go away on their own? I know a plastic surgeon could remove them, but does anyone have any homemade remedies?

Hi, I believe what you are talking about are called styes. Here is some info I have found:

A stye is an infection of the hair follicle of an eyelash. The hair follicle is the small pit that the eyelash grows out of. It is a sore similar to a boil or a pimple the forms on the edge of the eyelid. The eyelid may become swollen and sore. Styes usually develop and then come to a head in three to seven days, then burst and heal on their own, in most cases. They will fill with pus then burst spontaneously.

Styes can be treated at home by applying a very warm, wet, clean wash cloth to the tender area. This moist heat application should be done about four times a day, for about ten minutes at each treamtent. This will aid in the supporation of the stye. Supporation is the forming of a head on an infection. The leukocytes (or white blood cells), travel to the infection to fight it. The heat from the warm, moist compresses speeds up the leukocytes' travel, thus fascilitating the forming of the head on the stye. Once the stye ruptures, the pressure is relieved and the pain and swelling subsides. Never put your fingers in your eye. Your hands are full of germs. If you see a doctor, he may prescribe some antibiotic cream for the stye. There are also over the counter topical medications for the stye, which are mostly made up of petroleum jelly and other emollients to keep the eye moisturized. Non-prescription products, however, cannont treat the infection associated with a sty, but can get temporary relief of its symptoms, including burning, stinging and itching. Rarely styes require lancing by a doctor.

Natural Treatments
Take a gold ring and rub the sty with the gold ring a few times everyday. It will stop the pain and the sty will go away.
Using a hot compress is the best option. Apply a clean warm wet cloth to the eyes and press gently on the affected area for a few minutes. Do this for 4 to 5 times a day.
Boil a teaspoon of coriander seeds with a cup of water, like a herbal tea preparation. Wash your eyes 3 to 4 times a day with this solution.
Warm some Guava leaves and place them on a warm damp cloth, and use as a compress to reduce the redness and swelling.
Boil 1 teaspoon of turmeric in 2 cups of water, until it reduces to half. Cool and strain it through a muslin cloth. And apply as eye drops 3 times a day.
Take a cup of water and dissolve 2 to 3 granules of alum in it. And use as an eyewash.
You can also use a grated potato as a poultice, to reduce swelling in inflamed eyes.
Boil a handful of acacia leaves in two cups of water and make a decoction. Apply it as a compress on the eyes.
Rub clove spice in water and apply to the eye stye.
Slit an aloe leaf lengthwise and place the pulpy side on the sore eye.
Take a raw egg and seperate the white from yellow. Then place the white of the raw egg in a white cotton cloth or paper towel. Keep it on the stye 3 times a day for 15 minutes each time.
Mix Johnson’s baby shampoo with water. Put this solution on a Q-tip and wash the eye lashes with it. Do this twice a day.
Wet tea bags in warm water and place them on the eyes for 8-10 minutes. Do this several times a day. This shrinks the sty to half its size because of the tannic acid present in tea.
Or you can run cold water over a tea bag. Squeeze the water and then place it on your eye for about 30 mins.
Make a solution of warm water and salt. Let it cool a bit, so that you can apply it on your eyes. Soak some cotton in it and hold it to your eye for a minute. Repeat this technique a few times with fresh cotton.

This could be related to a form of dandruff. You must not try to attack the problem without a seeing a doctor. Your eyesight would be the worst thing to loose.

It sounds like it may be a stye. Change your mascara every 6 months at most.

They could be styes - go to an eye doctor for advice, and NEVER prick them with a pin because that could lead to a nasty eye infection.
