Atheists are the exact opposite (the anti's) of Religious people and fall prey to the same mistakes they put on religious people.
They are closed minded, ridigid thinkers who are brainwashed into believing a certain way.
They have every "mental" abberation of the religious as they claim them to be, including be out to convert!
The big thing is they OFFER NOTHING TANGIBLE.
Religious people can have ALL the benefits of knowledge and stuff like that that atheist claim to know and follow and still be religious. Atheists have a big NOTHING beyond that.
I keep patterning them after the Grinch, cause that's what they are, out to snatch peoples things and elements and when it doesn't work and people are still singing they get mad.
They have not child left inside. They have no Easter bunny, no Santa Claus, no Tooth Fairy, no Superman, no Batman, no Spiderman, no Neo. If Atheists wrote movies the heroe would be killed by a rock slide and innocent people would die and the some of the bad guys would get away. They have NO HAPPY endings.
The world was an accident and we will die in a Super Nova someday and that's all folks!
They have no hope, no rainbows, no sunshine.
When a doctor who believes in God looses a patient they continue beating and even TALK to God and tell God to bring them back and they go the extra mile. Why, deep down inside they know they can bring that patient back. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.
The Atheists says, I did all the text book said I should do, he's dead.
Any atheist who says otherwise obviously has some standard they live by and that classifies as religion.

I think a lot of Christians have made the mistake of confusing God with religion. I don't know about the atheists. It might be their problem at all. In any case I don't think everyone is an atheistic for one single reason. There is variety.

No, being an atheist, I don't think that. When I deconverted it was to deism. I left religion at first, not God. My journey continued and ended up where I am now... at atheism.
Being that atheists on the whole are of a high level of intelligence, I would say that they can understand concepts like "god", "religion", and the difference between the two.

No, I think that most atheist are people who have studied many different religions and decided that the best thing for them was not subscribing to any. However, I can understand, as I'm sure alot of people can, that by today's standards, you cannot tell a Christian by the way the he conducts himself in day to day living. Of course I am not speaking of all Christians, but for some. If others cannot tell we are Christians by the way we conduct ourselves, we are doing something very wrong, and causing confusion among those who might have become Christians, in the future. Good Luck!!!!

Actually, we understand that the concept of god is different from the religions which celebrate their various views of who or what god is.
Atheists believe that god does not exist.
Atheists believe that religions as socio-economic entities are dangerous.
If you are willing to keep an open mind, you might try reading
"The Blind Watchmaker" by R. Dawkins
It explains in very simple (but not condescending) terms how life came from nothing, which seems to be theist's big question.

I am not sure. Most atheist I know preach up one side and down another about the problems with various religious institutions, the deaths and destruction various religions have brought. Most of the time their arguments are centered on the evil in the world, too.
I think atheists feel disenchanted when it comes to religion, and that a lot of their explanations for their beliefs stem from their problems with organized religion.
On second though, I do think this is a large part of the problem. They DO mix up God and religion.

I have and will continue to believe in God, but I have no feelings for religions.
I think many people feel as I do and are not interested in being labeled. The religions create lables which build walls and create problems through separation.

No... athiest do not believe in the existance of God or a god. So therefore they do not believe in religion either. Religion is man's attempt to reach God. In their attempts to understand God and faith... they often tend to look at all people who choose to believe in God...the same way. Yet we are all very different. Some have religion... and struggle to get in touch with God... Some have a real and vital relationship with God. Those who do have found real faith, purpose and meaning in life.

I am an Atheist and dont really go for either. I dont see the benifit of living life based on an ancient book that has absoluetly NO bearing on modern life. Religous beliefs were mans way of explaining things that they didnt understand. Now with modern science, these things can easily be explained. I need to see to believe, and I am sorry, but I just havent seen. No offense to anyone, its just not for me.

Sometimes yes, but the idea that God can be known to humanity places us very near God, so near that we may need to be god's ourselves to understand.
Also, religion ism istaken for god far more often I believe.
I'd rather let the unknown be unknown then subscribe to the best afterlife.
