because ppl spend most of their time assuming everything.... judging ppl before they know them, thinking if they are one way then they must be this, this and this.
It is the sad state of the world.

Do they? That's a really strange assumption to make. Common usage of the term is for someone who believes that there is not a God. The only reason they would seek God is if they are not confident in their atheistic belief, or if they are 'hedging their bets'. If their belief is correct, seeking God won't hurt, and is at worst a waste of time. But if they are wrong, it could be helpful to put some effort into discovering God. I know I just turned away from the city, but I'll still look for tall buildings just in case I'm wrong.

Because it is hard for some people to accept that others don't feel the need for a god, nor do the find the existence of one to be possible. Because it is hard for them to accept that there are such people, they think that when someone says this they are "lost" and that they are thus looking for a god of some kind pf god, or are reaching out. Most of the time this simply isn't the case.

And this is coming from a believer.

because they don't understand that atheists are concerned how religious people think because they are constantly trying to push christianity on others, including lawmakers.

I'm sorry you don't believe in God. I was there once, but too many things that I nor science could explained happened to me to not believe. Now after following the teachings of the bible, and God, I am more patient, loving, kind, sincere, generous, peaceful, joyful, etc.

You are quite right, kiki-la. In fact the Bible says there are none who seek God (In Romans chapter 3). It's God who is seeking atheists! And religious hypocrites! And everybody else!

Atheists dont seek God beacuse they dont belive he exists at all.
Agnostics are the uncertian ones. Athiests have to have more faith then anyone else ive ever seen. I mean, to NOT belive theres a God.
I cant force anything on you. No one can.

Because you are posting question in the religion and spirituality section of Yahoo answers!

You must have some interest in God to debate and discuss it.

I don't. Many theists assume that atheists are kidding themselves...that they want more. But I understand that many are happy were they are in their beliefs. However, happiness is not the highest good, nor is it a lasting occurrence in this life.

Because they keep popping up in the religion and spirituality forum.

I don't believe in mythology or want to know anything about it. I don't go to that forum.

If you aren't seeking God here, what are you seeking? Are you trying to convert Christians? If you are, what are you trying to convert us to?
