Not even a professional can give you proof that you'll get the
results you want, unless she actually sees your hair.
Ask your mom to go with you to a reputable salon just for a
consultation. At the very least you'll end up with some knowledge
of how your hair will respond to color. One thing you have to do is be perfectly honest with the colorist. If you've used ANY kind of chemicals on your hair,(Sun-in,lemon juice, peroxide, permenant
wave, ANYTHING), the colorist has to know in order to advise you
correctly. Take a peek at this sight. You'll see what I mean.
Even if you have" virgin " hair that has not been touched by any
chemicals, and even if you use the least permenant hair color,
like a rinse or "demi-permenant" deposit-only product there's a
possibility that it could stain your light hair darker than you want
and may not wash out. If you decide to do it at home, start off
with a light natural color brown that CLEARLY says "DEMI_PERMENANT" . No bleach,no ammonia, no lift.
I'd wish you Luck, but knowledge will get you further in this case.

I dyed my hair from dishwater blonde to a dark brown. I love it. But it started out a bit dark and slowly faded over 6 months time. If you are unsure if you will like it or if your parents will like it then get the washout kind that comes out in 12 washings. You can also slowly step into the darker color. Dye it only half as dark as you might want it and if you still like it take it the rest of the way.

My hair is natural blond and I dyed it brown once and it came out brown with a tint of blond my b/f thought it was hot. It depends on the thickness and how long you leave it in for. Do a test on it cut a small section from the underneath of your hair where it won't be missed and try it that way. That is what the directions say to do.

have dirty blonde hair with a tint of red and i temporarily dyed it black and it turned purple. just be careful of what brand you use and be sure before you do anything.
stay true to who you are also, do it because you want to, not because someone else did it!
