The latest vote that took over the House and Senate sent a big message to the politicians, and don't assume marches don't work. I don't know if you were around during Viet Nam but marches did make a difference. It took time but they got the message. This has already gone on too long, so we can assume they are trying to figure a way out without losing face. Individually you write your congress person or Senator from you state and area. I have done that, make a copy of the letter and keep sending it off about every two to three weeks.

Unfortunately, if you answer that question and you are successful in stopping the war - what plans do you have for the aftermath?
The Islamic radicals have made their demands very clear - they fully intend to kill all infidels, by any means available to them.
That's the reality.
We must put an end to this lunacy, but we must not bury our heads in the sand and leave ourselves open to more events like 9/11.
We must stand united and not be swept up by anti-war rhetoric while the Islamic terrorists continue to maim and kill thousands of innocent men, women and children.
It is a damned if we do and damned if we don't situation. Hopefully, new policies and agendas will prove more effective in this fight. This is a war we cannot afford to lose.

Soldiers aren't coming home dying everday or in such bad healthy they want to die. Soldiers come home with a new outlook on life. Soldiers come home with experiences and sights that you'll never see. And they'll learn to appreciate life more. We do not kill the thousands of innocent Iraqis. WE help save them. Their death is on the hands of their own people. Not ours.
What can you do? support this war...and get it over with. Because thousands of soldiers willl continue to serve...with or without your support.

The United States and the United Nations Coalition aren't fighting for freedom, they are fighting "terrorism". Bush thinks that by sending vast amounts of troops to a foriegn world will make the al queda groups pay for the 9 / 11 attacks. The problem is that no one wants to go to war, unless it was invading North Korea. The President's decision wasn't wise because he sent Americans to Iraq to fight (along with our Canadian, British, and UN allies). The problem is that our troops today aren't as GOOD as the WW2 troops. In the 1940's, the Allies were smart, strong, and great fighters. Today, they are illiterate and not as forceful as they once were.
There is no way citizens can do anything to stop this war, all we can do is support it.

You are in the minority, marches will not work because you are a freak and the majority of Americans do not support your views. I guess you could get a time machine and move back to the 60's. You would have the luxury of running scared there; the enemy would not follow you home there.
Also the you might not be the first throat that they cut like now.

You can send soldiers care packages. My husband is in the miltary. This is the best thing you can do, unless of course you want to enlist! Then you would certainly help! Marching and rallying isn't going to do anything but bring down soldiers morale. It's definetly not helpful at all. Instead of constantly fighting this war, support our troops!! They are risking their lives everday forour country and no one at all seems to do anything but complain!!!!!!!

Clear and concise messages have to be sent to america, but unfortunatly, the majority of americans are glued to traditional media outlets. And the only liberal news media, is a portion of the printed news, the television media outlets are owned by those who wish to propagate this in the first place.
Moreover, we allow ourselves to be decieved through our apathy, and this is done monetarily. americans are accustomed to a plush lifestyle that no-one else is aforded. and the reason as a country we objectify as much of the world as we do (does anyone know how many slaves there still are in the world), is so we can still get our cheap socks, nike's and ipods. so the key to this problem lies with the indulgent consumerist culture in which we live. otherwise, if we continue this path, as rome did once, we will to become just as disposable as the products we are so keen on purchasing.
The reason we went into the middle east in the 60's was the same as the reason why were still there now. does anyone forget that it was saadam who was standing in the oval office less than 2 decades ago shaking rumsfield's hands? we used him to defeat the ayatollah, who came to power after the citizens of iran revoted, because the US backed shah starved them to death to buy weapons. This was done, because of the power vacume that was caused because the middle east ceased to be a brittish colony (they apparently learned right and wrong), as we were competing with soviet union for power (anyone remember vietnam). Oh but of course the communists were the enemies, those sharing, redistributing bastards (while i awknowledge many were dictatorships)
all this geo-political maneuvering has been going on for decades under the premise of 'safety'. but lest we forget that hitler was proclaiming safety of his country from jews (my people) only 60 years ago. lest we forget the tolitarian movements that happened then, that are happening now in our own country. and lest we forget most importantly, 650,000 dead iraqi's and 2 million refugees? should there be any doubt as to why the terrorists hate us?
we need to leave the world to operate as a means unto itself, and not as a means to our own ends, with little reciprocation.

Well im sorry to tell you, but all that is just a factor of any war. If you can find a good, positive, and well known group and let your voice be heard, you can do a lot of things. good luck
