I worked for a program where I recieved an education award for almost five thousand dollars. I just want the money. Does anyone know if this is possible?? It doesn't explain much in the paper work.

Most educational awards are sent directly to the college or educaitonal institution. In all my years of administering scholarships I have never seen an education grant given to a student to use for anything not related to education.

Contact the donor directly and specifically state what you plan to do with the money instead of education costs. It will be up to the benefactor to decide to award it to you.

You could talk to someone in the Financial Aid office at your school, but they will probably tell you that the funds can only be applied toward your tuition.
