When a guy likes a girl and wants to date her what would he normally do?

This guy tells me he likes me and with time he's going to make me see his sincerity and feeling he has for me.

i dont really get it.. or why he'd tell me he likes me because that isnt really doing anything.

what do i do? i hardly know him and im afraid he's just playing around
i dont want to get hurt.. or i dont want to take him seriously if he isnt. i think hes going to get tierd of me if i show him the real me. and if i dont i wont be comfortable. the person i am around him is a way nicer version than the person i actually am

I can totally identify with your situation, I have had very similar feelings. I recommend being yourself first and foremost, spending some time with the guy so that you can see if he is truely sincere by his actions ... not just his words. And taking it slow. You can't worry about getting hurt cause really getting hurt is just part of the game, your feelings may get hurt, your heart may get broke, but if you opt to keep yourself protected and isolated, you will indeed protect your emotions but you will also be alone.

First off why do you have "versions" of yourself??? Whoever you are is fine but your never going to have someone be really interested as long as there is multiple versions of you that you show people at different times.

I'd say be honest with who you are no matter who your with including this guy. Maybe you don't feel comfortable about dating him or having him pursue you. Tell him you'd like to be friends and let it naturally go from there. But stop hiding who you are, there's no point, you don't live your life when your busy maintaining all the different versions of yourself so let go and see where life takes you. It's scary but worth it.
