Debit cards don't carry a balance. You may, however, use your debit card for the amount in your account (according to the bank) less any outstanding checks and other debit card usage (according to you) for up the the daily limit as set by your bank.

A debit card is used to withdraw funds from your bank account. A debit card is used instead of a check to make purchases. For you to have a debit card balance you must have money in your bank account. You can contact your bank to find your balance unless you keep track of all of your deposits and debits.
