What you need is a relationship with the Lord and you may not get that simply by going to church. Not all churches teach what the Bible tells us concerning what God wants for us, and that is a personal relationship.

But we must go to God on His terms, and His terms are wonderful. Jesus died to open the door for this relationship. By trusting Him as you Savior you will now have fulfilled God's only requirement for having a relationship with Him. Going to a good Bible teaching church has great fruit and I highly recommend it, but take care of the relationship first and the other pieces will fall into place.

Perhaps look in to God based spirituality, the church is not the only place to find that. I would recommend reading up about the Noahide laws from the bible as a starting point.

I am a religious person and I will tell you now, not having a relationship with God is setting yourself up for big trouble. A relationship with God and accepting Jesus Christ into your heart is going to be the best thing you could do.

You never succeed in trying.
Firmness in the Cause of God requires both faith and knowledge.
You cannot overcome any trials without knowing the real purpose of your life and the guidance of the One True God.

It's not about being a religious person, it's about having a relationship with God. That's where it's at, not about how perfect you can be according to religions rules and regulations! Stick with God, He works WONDERS!

You've only been to one church and now you're already trying to make up your mind. You should learn more about all faiths and see what they have to offer.

You know what the Christians think already so why ask because you will do what you want to do anyway.
