This will be my 1st surgery and it's going to happen next week. I don't know what to expect. How long does it take to talk again? What medicine do they give you? What are the best things to eat??? PLEASE HELP!!! : (

I had mine taken out when i was 7. I was able to talk right away. But it really hurt. So, the pain will be completely gone in a week. And you should be able to talk in no time.

Not incredibly long from my experience. In fact, when I had my removed, I was able to talk the whole time, it was merely a painful experience. The pain only lasted a week or so, and it was gradually getting easier to talk as that week progressed.

I had my tonsils taken out when I was five..along with my ability to snore...I was talking when i woke up only softly...you have to eat soft foods but it's no big deal. Don't worry so much they knock you out the last thing you will remember is them putting a mask on your face then you wake up and it's done.

my dads friends son got his taken out, it took 3 to 5 days 4 him 2 talk again. Eat all soupy foods, such as, popcicles, soup. Nuthin crunchy.Drink everything but pop, achohol.

You will be talking in no time at all. You will be given something for the pain and the quicker you eat solid food and talk the quicker you will heal. Good luck.
