Is it just cultural and can there ever be world peace? What would it take? No religion condones violence yet it occurs everyday.

All religions imply an exclusive God. The word exclusive is important because religions exclude each other. The minute you adopt one religion you are excluding millions of people from your life and from your society.
Jews exclude and isolate themselves by thinking they are God's chosen people.
Christians believe that you can only be saved through Jesus. All other religions are excluded from Heaven.
Muslims believe that the infidels are bad people and should be destroyed. Death and destruction are part of their culture.
You can see how religions are the seed of separation, discrimination, hatred and war.
All three major religions were born in the Middle East.
Just look at what's happening there.

The fact is that they *don't* worship the same God. Christians are trinitarian monotheists and believe that Jesus IS God. Muslims and Jews are unitarian monotheists and deny that Jesus is God. Both cannot be correct. Either Jesus IS God, and to NOT worship Him is to not worship the Father, or Jesus is NOT God, and TO worship HIm is to commit idolatry.

I am a Jew by birth who is a Christian by faith, and I have thought a lot about this issue; I wrote about the whole idea of "Judeo-Christianity" on my blog a few years ago, where I say more than is probably proper for this answer forum, but can be found here if anyone is interested:

The reason there is hatred between Jews, Christians and Muslims is because of the sinful nature of people. Hatred for others is the natural propensity of man since the Fall. What is very discouraging to me is the hatred that can come from Christians, who are supposed to love even their enemies (not that Jews and Muslims are by nature their enemies any more than anyone else) The Bible speaks of the natural man as violent by nature, waiting to shed blood. We do this in our thoughts even if we never harm anyone physically, which is what Jesus meant when He said that hatred differs from murder only in degree, not in kind.

We hate people because we think we are better than they are, which is absolutely untrue, as we are all sinners. Anyone who realizes that they are a sinner and has been forgiven by God in Christ should more and more cease to hate others.

Religions "do" condone violence. Usually the violence is a convenient protection against whoever the folowers' baddie enemy is at the time of the religion's conception. However, historically most religious violence occurs because of socio-political and land disputes. For example:

Christianity: Jesus was a poor son of a poor unwed mother who advocated rights of the poor against the rich political infrastructure (perhaps because he was charismatic and they tried to stamp him out first?). Later Jesus's followers became powerful in the form of the Catholic church and with Alexander the Great and others used the Crusades to butcher innocent people and take nations = land power and wealth.

Judaism: They were enslaved and abused in Egypt. Lead out to find their own home. Have been fighting for land and life against the Muslims since their advent. The Pentateuch arguably has the most divinely advocated violence in it.

Islam: Fought with the Syrian and Iraqi elite for control of Mecca and original ability to abolish paganism in the middle east. They counteracted a lot of the actions of the "Crusades" by taking back northern Africa by force. Physically fought Israel for control of the holy lands and political/religious rights. All resident Muslims were slaughtered during the 1099 Christian taking of Jerusalem. Land wars aren't pretty.

Etc etc etc. There's no simple answer and it's not going to stop any time soon.

Well in the first place Chrstian's, Jew's and Muslim's do not worship the same God. Real Christans do not hate anyone.
The Jews worship a God but with out knowing him. The muslims worship a god of fiction a black rock. The jews do nto hate the muslims they jews are trying to survive. The muslims hate even the muslims. The muslims kill and murder in the name of allah. Allah mean submission. And comes from egypt moon God worship. You are incorrect the christian faith does not promore any violance. The jewish faith does not promote violance. But on the other hand the muslims have it in the quran to kill the chrisitans and the jews. It also teachs that you will be rewarded in doing so. So it would seem that any one reading about the muslims fatih would know this has nothing to due with God.

Well Muhammed wrote: "There is no God but He in Whom the people of Israel believe" (Koran Sura 10:90)

Mark wrote: "And Jesus answered him, the first of all the Commandments is Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is One Lord." (Mark 12:29)

They both proclaim the God of the Jews as their God. So the premiss is sound that they are all taking about the same God.

Hatred stems from trying to justify an alternate path to the original one set forth by God with out the mass revelation of millions found in the original (2 million taken out of Egypt with a mass revelation at Mount Sinai by every single person present).

there isnt hatred between the REAL Christians, Jews, and Muslims. extremists are the ones who carry the hatred. The extremists are the ones who twist the religious scriptures to create their own twisted ideas. There will be a world peace someday. read your Bible-- its when Jesus returns. Religious violence occurs everyday b/c of extremists.

Because so few actually worship God, which is patience, acceptance, and peace.Even in the face of adversary and spite, which exists in people of all religions .They who destroy do so for inability to create. To truly worship the Lord of these religions one must create peace, love and acceptance.

I think that most Christians have respect for the Jews because Jesus was a Jew and the Messiah. IMO, it appears to be the Muslims that want to fight with the other two.

And if someone is offended by this, I thought we were free to voice our opinions here and do so without being threatened!!

Difference in Godly Prophets:
Christians: Jesus
Jews: David (who defeated Goliath, I think?)
Muslim: Mohammad.
