Why are people such angry drivers and are you one of them?

I met the “Road Rage Man of The Year” today. You know how people drive across parking lots instead of in the lanes like they are supposed to? Well, I was in the LANE driving like I’m SUPPOSED to and this guy was flying through the parking lot across all the lanes. I slowed down once I saw him because I’m a cautious driver and he sort of slowed down so I wasn’t sure if he was going to go though the lanes or not. He kept coming at me, so I honked at him and put my hands up in the air as if to say, “What are you doing?” WELL, this guy SLAMMED on his breaks and stopped right in front of my car and just started screaming at me. I, like any normal person, got angry at him for yelling at me when he’s the one that was driving illegally. Then he got even angrier and I just drove around him because those people are insane. I had never witnessed someone that angry before and it was very scary. He's the type that would shoot you!

For the insane that think I'm in the wrong and I'm the one who started it, if I hadn't honked my horn, he would have hit my car. If you saw someone driving straight for your car, would you just sit there and do NOTHING?! Most people in his situation would say sorry and pretend like they are idiots. That's what I do if I make a mistake. I don't scream at the other person who has done nothing wrong but drove defensively.

You did the correct thing in being aware of him and using your horn to make him aware of your presence.

Perhaps it would have been better to keep your hands on the wheel...you throwing your hands up in exasperation at his incorrect attitude behind the wheel may highlight the need for you to detract yourself from reacting to his antics.

One wrong does not deserve another:he probably is driving like that to make up for the fact that he has an intzy-wintzy penis :-) So, next time....a little "knowing smile" and an "after you macro phallus" should make your day!

You should have taken his license plate numbers and reported that bastard to the police! Angry people do not belong behind the wheel of any kind of motor vehicle. They need to cool off in the gym or at the park doing physical activity-- not driving and endangering the lives of other people! Road rage should be a punishable offense if there are 2 or more witnesses. We have laws but they are not being enforced! And NO. I take my anger out, verbally and immediately, on the person or persons responsible for causing it. Not on people who are innocent and unaware of anything wrong. I do not drive until I am no longer upset about anything. It is not worth the risk.

Kevin
You are wrong, There are laws in driving in the parking lot silly!
Lanes are created for driving, parking spaces are for parking, therefore he was in the wrong and was creating a situation that could have hurt somebody. Obviously he didnt nkow he was wrong.
I would have probably yelled what the hell are you doing, but when you initiate stuff like that, you do invite a kooks response.
Too bad[people can get away with bs like that....

i see what you mean and yeah, he was driving illegally but you are the one with road rage. You shouldn't have blown your horn and put your hands up in the air. The guy that was driving through the parking lot does not have road rage. You started it. I am not trying to be mean. People are mean now a days. You never know what they might do if you blow at them. I have seen where people blow their horns at people, then the other guy gets out and shoots the one blowing the horn. I know how mad you are. Yes, i hate it terribly when people drive like that. But you can't blow the horn at them because that means you are the one with road rage. There are some mean people out there that might do something to ya if you blow at them or give them the bird or something

I totally agree! Why do the people who drive like maniacs act like the sane drivers are the ones in the wrong? Wherever they are rushing to, you'd think that they'd want to get there without a ticket or especially an accident.

You may not like this answer but you did ask the question.
It sounds like you started it he was just driving along minding his own business in a carpark where there are usually no road rules anyway (not that anyone knows about or follows) and you started honking the poor fellow and threw your arms up etc.
Road Rage takes TWO people and the other one is always wrong.
Remember you did ask.

The very reason you should not even raise your arms, as if to say "What are you doing." Sad to say, we must ignore those Morons. They are intimidators and are mentally deranged. Let the law of averages get them. Several tickets and no driver's license will cool their heels. Glad you didn't get into a more serious situation.

sounds like you're both in the wrong but i see what you mean, he woulda hit u, and i'd be mad too. i agree if u had not have honked, he might would have hit u. but u have to be careful, nowadays, if u honk, they could get out and shoot u or something, and u wouldn't want that. just be careful.

People today don't have a morals or values.
People think the faster they drive, the more time they save, and this is false.
