Yes, the Bible says he went to hell and took the keys to death, hell and the grave away from Satan.

For three day Jesus was in hell. ( only this sign shall be given the sign of jona ) jona spent 3 days in the belly of a whale. Jesus spent 3 days in the belly of the earth. Then he assended. Actually Jesus had to suffer hell in order for those who believed on him to be forgiven of there requirement to suffer the torments of hell. This is a requirement for the punishment of sin. So he had to pay this price for our salvation. He had to atone for all our sin and that means all the punishment of our Sin.

Jsus didn't take all our sins. He died so that sins could be forgiven.

As such, he wasn't required to spend a moment in hell to atone for them.

The only reason he stopped by there, was to free the souls of the just and escort them to heaven.

Yes he went, just like Pamela said. Satan thought he won for a minute I bet.

But then Jesus picked up the keys of death, literally and bodily came smashing out of that grave!

WOOOOOOO! If that was the only message of Christianity, it would still be the greatest news on earth!

Yes. After He died, he desended into Hell. Three days later He was resurrected and ascended to Heaven.
"You will be able to do works like mine and even greater than these because I am going to the Father."

Matt.12
[40] For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

He was in the "heart of the earth" for three days and three nights. He was here and still is. This is the "heart" of the earth.

2Pet.3
[8] But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Hos.6
[2] After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE THIRD DAY TO FULLY ARRIVE. WE ARE STILL WAITING TO BE RAISED UP.

It makes sense that He would....And for anyone saying "yes, but not for long," I imagine has never spent a second in Hell.
