My ex is back in town after being gone for 4 years, since then she has been divorced and had a kid, My love for her still remains the same after all this time, we have always had a good friendship since we broke up. She tells my closet friends that "she loves me so much" But its hard to tell what kind of love she means without asking. I want to get back with her, but she gives me very little signals to go off of. This same kind of thing happenend when I was younger dating a different girl, but my love for her wasn't nearly as much as the one present. I guess my qustion would be, Why would a women say she loves someone so much but want nothing more than a friendship, especially with a fairly good past with that person?? I'm trying not to get my heart stepped on, which can happen very easy, if there are any mature women out there that could explain this to me, it would make my day!!

Maybe she is using you and your kind friendship as an "option"....when she is down or needs somebody.....some people use people because they know they will always be there and they take advantage of that person's feelings. It is an unkind thing to do to a person, because it reduces the relationship to one of being used and somewhat abused......if she continues this, I would re-evaluate my need for her friendship. She probably doesn love you in her own way.....but sometime love is confused for "need"......hope you find someone who loves you for who you are.

I think if she is telling people that she loves you, then she must. Maybe she is waiting for you to make the first move. What ever you do, don't come on too strong or you may push her away. Talk to her, feel her out. Its the only way you will know for sure. Don't do nothing and maybe loose her. If it helps..... I wouldn't tell someone that I love someone so much if I only loved them like a friend.

When you want something in life you'll only get it if you take a chance.

You don't have to make a commitment right now all you need to do now is ask for a date.

If she accepts you should start off as though this is all new because after 4 years it is.

You need to remember that there is a big difference between loving someone and being IN love with someone. Good luck. Hope it all works out for you.

She is afraid that you might not love her the same way or that you might not love her anymore. Try to talk to her and tell her exactly how you feel. Everything will fall into place.

i'm 24, i understand your question.

she means:

we had a great past relationship. i love him for being good to me. i was IN love with him, but since we've broken, i just love him. not IN love, just love him.

you can love someone, but you have to be IN love with them for a relationship. some girls just allow the great guys to get away.
