No the age of consent in the United States is 18, an 18 year old girl may date who she chooses. However I feel that such a large age difference would be very difficult to overcome. At 19 you are not in the same place enotionally as a 45 year old. However with communication and passion any relationship can work.

That is weird; a 26 year age difference is not typical, especially because she's so young. Technically they're not doing anything illegal because they're both adults. It's their choice I suppose, but if it's bothering you then definitely bring it up to your friend. My best friend's parents are 20 years apart and happily married, so it can work out well. Just make sure that neither is taking advantage of the other. Good luck + I hope it turns out well! Yes it's legal for a 19 yr. old to date or marry a 45 yr. old. The odds are against it working but that's a chance people don't mind taking. Especially when their marring millionaires and billionaires.
