I know I will. I was only hit a few times, and I know it wasn't normal. My adoptive brother walked right out of an abusive situation and into a more abusive one, thanks to my f-n uncle. But then my brother ((I read his journal by mistake)) has been abused for a long time now. Should my mom get them councling? What can I do to help them?

This is wrong. No one should be hit or abused. I know what your brother has been through. Ask your brother what his opinions is about this. He needs to decide his future and feelings. This is a crime!!

Yes I think he needs counseling because depending on his age this situation could really damage his self-esteem and when he gets a in relationship he may think that is normal to be abusive towards his partner.

If they didn't tell you this stuff face to face, then don't tell your Mom. You should talk to them and tell them what you found out. If you can't do that then maybe you should keep out of the situation.
I'm not sure what exactly would be the best solution-only you can decide. You know your family-I don't know your family.

you should get them away from there. that is horrible. get your mom to just walk out and get away. the abuse will never stop, thus the scars will never heal.
