I am not really sure what foods I am allergic to, or if i am really allergic, but sometimes my lip gets swollen. It will happen at the most random times. In the middle of meals, when i wake up in the morning, or just random times of days. Any ideas??

I suffer from the same problem and I have seen an allergy specialist and they weren't able to pinpoint why this happens but I have learned that I am allergic to crest toothpaste, tomatoes, chap stick, and other things. My suggestion would be to see a specialist first, before you go write down everything that you have eaten and used on your skin before you have the reactions so that they may be able to pinpoint the problem. By the way you want to see the doctor asap because my throat also started to itch and I have to carry an epipen around in case I come into contact with something that will cause my throat to close.

Sounds like you are of course, you are allergic to something. Finding that out is not always easy. I would go to an allergists and have some testing done. It also could be that you have hives. I have a daughter that gets hives and her lip swells up. We have yet to find any answers & it has been 2 and half yrs. I wish you better luck than we have had.

A food log could be helpful..and staying away from food for about a week or so at a time might lead you to some answers.

Good Luck with it!!

Someone mentioned a food chart which is a great idea. Also, have you put any kind of ointments on your lips? I discovered the hard way that I was allergic to Burt's Bees lip balm.

Swollen lips is a symptom of a mild allergic reaction.
I suggest you keep a log book on watch you eat and see if it causes a reaction in return.
This will help you to determine on what you are allergic to and avoid it in the future.
Take Care.

you need to write down the things you eat and watch to see if your lip swells. then if that dont help maybe its an airborne allergy such as dust or mold.
