OK, here is the deal: If you take long HOT showers and use soap every day you WILL have very very dry skin...hot water and soap both remove oils from the skin and water is not a moisturizer. Lotions with petroleum of any type or mineral oil should be avoided as they dry the skin as do most preservatives in oils and lotions.

Drink more water--just water not coffee, tea, soda or anything other than plain old h2o. Taking an EFA like borage oil or fish oil or evening primrose oil will also help you with your dry skin...

mikayla, first of all you are drying your skin more by using products that contain petroleum/alcohol/glycol/glycerin and such. Run don't walk to the nearest natural foods health food store, and get some organic moisturizer. Oatmeal is great for dry/itching skin. The professional at the store can help you more than a bunch of strangers here. You will probably have to reapply often, until your skin gets hydration. Drink a LOT of water and take L-Lysine to help. Also Vitamin E and B vitamins are good. Fish oil might help also. Best of luck dear. Nana

Dry skin always so irritating...I hate it so much...I suggest you try using Zenmend Derma Lotion from Zenmed or Autopalm from Skinstore.com.

Zenmed has no side effects and it's non-irritant to the
skin. It's proven to works fast and it povides Maximum
results! It's certainly a good lotion to prevent further
outbreaks.

Another product that I think is effective is Atopalm. This dry skin mlm is one of the best seller at skinstore.com now. (Skinstore.com holds more than 10,000 skin care products) It's pretty effective, and worth the dollar paid out.
