Yes! Ninjitsu is a martial art, and yes you can become a ninja. Of course they don't go sneaking around killing people anymore and stuff like that. There are schools to learn this art. One of the most known of the modern day ninjas is Sho Kosugi. He is also an actor who was in several ninja movies of the 80's. He used to have a school in California. I got to speak to him one time, he's a really nice guy. Check out a couple of his movies, " Revenge of the Ninja " and " Pray for Death ".

Ninja is essentialy a military covert reconnaissance specialist in medieval feudal Japan.
In my view you can only be a ninja if there is someone who has use for these skills. But these were 'designed' for medieval feudal Japan and are mostly useless in the modern world of technology driven espionage and military reconnaissance. So, depending on your perception of what a ninja is, you can become a ninja in the modern context. For this you can:
1. try to go into espionage training for some state security agency in your country and risk your life trying to find out enemy secrets for your country, just like a ninja;
2. go into the army and try to make it into some reconnaissance designated force and arguably risk your life even more again, like a ninja;
3. simply train in the martial arts (Japanese, e.g. jiu-jutsu if medieval Japan captures your fancy. They'll even teach you how to handle a sword (!)) and look cool, feel good, sort of like a ninja after a successful mission, I guess :).

Whichever choice suits you more - good luck!

Ninja only exist in video games, cartoon, comic books, movies and history.
Sorry, try a real martial art instead.
There are people out that teach "ninjitsu", I do not dispute this. But what they are teaching is unlikely to be the secret arts that were taught in the mountains of Japan by the original ninja clans.
What these people teach in modern day is something different.

yeah you can become a ninja. you have to be trained in martial arts for most of your life, be really secretive, quiet, sneaky, and learn how to use weapons properly. today there are no real ninjas. but people can say that they are ninjas if they are trained in martial arts because they are in the martial way as the ninjas were.

Back in the mid to late 90's Robert Bussey began a school that was focused on teaching Ninjitsu. They did in fact focus on stealth and techniques that ancient ninja did use. Ninja were not just fighters, they were skilled in stealth and spying.

In recent days however Bussey has come under fire, and with one of his students taking a quick and pitifully defeat in the UFC (back in the late 90's) when it was focused on real fighting - it has since lost more of it's credibility.

Yes,the martial art is called ninjitsu.It's quite pointless being a ninja now because there are guns.Anyway,after a ninja completes his ninjitsu training,he can decide whether to learn kendo to improve his swordmanship.

Hatsumi Maasaki is regarded as the last (known) ninja, successor to 9 schools of ninjitsu. While he still teaches ninjitsu, Hatsumi-sensei does not claim to be training ninja, and has stated that the ninja will die with him.

Um, not unless you re in a movie, like Batman and beyond.
It IS possible to be an outstanding fighter, like those in Karate,Ty Quan Do, and the other awesome sports. A Ninja is cool sounding, but no, not in true life. Some moves could be made with the help of certain sports, but not from a Ninja point of view.

Sorry, Ninjas no longer exist. They were in Japan only. And only Japanese were Ninjas. And they've been gone a very long time. They only exist in movies, books, and video games...You can be a Ninja on Halloween if you want though.

The Bujinkan Dōjō headed by Masaaki Hatsumi is one of three organizations generally accepted as teaching ninjutsu by the Bujinkan's members (under the name Budo Taijutsu). Hatsumi's Bujinkan Dōjō consists of nine separate schools of allegedly traditional Japanese martial arts, only three of which contain ninjutsu teachings.

Stephen K. Hayes studied under Masaaki Hatsumi but teaches an Americanized system, To-Shin Do, in his Quest Centers.

To-Shin Do is a martial art style as a means of teaching ninjutsu (or taijutsu) in a format more accessible to American audiences.
