this is a very common situation that I'm sure most 'friends' have faced. Learn your lessons and realise that, ''friends can be lovers, but lovers can't be friends''

Yep - same problem here.
I think the big issue with it is that you cant really tell the other person cuz u might ruin the friendship with it - and then u have lost everything. On the other hand, if it works - brilliant - u have the best basis for a relationship - friendship.
Sorry that I cant really help you - but as I said I'm just in the same situation.
BTW What makes u so sure u cant have your friend?

Yes. It was a girlfriend. I let her know my true feeling, but also let her know that I would never want to lose our friendship over it. She thought maybe it was just sexual. I told her it was not sexual at all. Not that the sex would out of this world, but that with her I could be myself. When I looked into her eyes... time stood still.When I held her hand my heart would pound, and the world was silent. We kissed for her curiousity. She siad it was as kissing her brouhter. We are still friends today. She has a husband and two sons now.

Yes; I think this is a fairly common thing. I've been in this spot before though and the person, while never dating me, is one of my close friends, so in my opinion in worked out pretty well.

I am actually at the moment madly inlove with a friend but he keeps going back to a girl who treats him like crap. i wish he could just see how much i care. but i am afraid if i tell him it would ruin our relationship. I will wait and see

yes, my friend john, he has wonderful qualities but he's a few years older and going to college in another state. i did end up going out with another guy friend, he's the best guy in the world!
