I have auburnish hair, but I bleached them a few months ago to get rid of black hair dye, and then did it reddish, and now I have some red hair with a little blond and my roots are now coming in. I wanna do a little darker shade but I don't know which one. I don't want it to be black or anything, just something that does a change, and covers up everything.help me!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read a good tip on my henna box -- take the hair out of your hairbrush and dye that to see how your hair will "take" the color.

I think you'll just have to experiment. Match your current hair to the color chart, then choose *one* color darker. If that is the color you like, then BINGO, you know what you need. If not, wait until the roots come out again, and choose *one* color darker than that. Keep adjusting until you get the color you want. Be patient. You'll save time in the long run by being logical.

Also, I think it's easier on you and the hair to go darker than it is to go lighter, so try not to overrun the color (ie: go two or three darker because you have no patience). Good luck!

I don't follow trends. I choose whichever color I am in the mood for, but I stick the shades that are cooler because I am very pale. I've been from almost platinum blond to black. I color my hair when I'm bored. LOL. So far home hair color at the store has done a good job letting women know which is cooler or warmer. I know that the color on the box is not the color your hair will become unless you have similar colored hair already. Many people still tend to expect their hair to turn out exactly like the box and are disappointed. In store, a color match finder small computer (like the ones for finding windshield wipers, etc) would help those that want to find their perfect shade by asking about their skin tone and eye color, if they've colored before, etc. Either way, a lot of women are going to pick whatever color they want, even if they know its not the right one.

I agree that it may be best to dye it close to your natural color and let it grow back FOR NOW. Once you've got a head full of healthy, natural hair you can go back to coloring, but your hair is getting dangerously close to being over-processed. The bleach will have damaged the core of the hair shaft, making it fragile and prone to breakage. You may even find that your natural hair color has changed over time, so it will seem like a totally new look! In the future, if you're dying at-home stay within two or three shades of your natural color and leave the serious changes for the salon. You won't regret it.

Be careful of sudden bleaching, since your hair is already damaged. Bleach it back up to your original color before changing your color. Go up to a brownish-red or matte brown, then wait until your next session to lighten it a little bit again. Continue at this rate until you are back to your original color.

color it as close to your natural color and let it grow out... you don't need to change your haircolor. God made it the color it is, and you should like it... there's no need to change it.

Cut it off and go bald. That is so sexy on a girl.
