came out of his penis, he was not in pain, and has since urinated, no blood noticed. What might be the issue? He has also been on an antibiotic and pregnisone for the past month for a staff infection.

Take him to a vet and let the vet diagnose him. Whatever the problem, it is definitely not normal, especially with the fact that the dog is already on an antibiotic and steroids. Get him to a vet as soon as possible!

perhaps infection of the urinary tract exacerbated
by dehydration. Should resolve with adequate
water and the antibiotic. However, some antibiotics
can result in overgrowth of other infections....so
might want to look into switching antibiotics if
it continues to be a problem.

two cents from a 10 dog owner.

bladder infection, bladder stones, kidney stones, polyps, tumors... go to the vet. after the vet does a urinalysis, then he may do xrays, and/or an ultrasound. as far as being on prednisone for a month, any vet with any sense would not leave a dog on pred that long. long term use of pred can cause liver damage, impeded using many other drugs, and also can cause a number of other diseases.

He might have a bladder infection. Our dog started peeing blood and we took him to the vet, the Vet advised us that his baldder was a little swollen and he had a bladder infection.. call your vet and ask them if the other anitbitics could be causing this.

He could have a bladder infection. Prednazone is not normally given for that long a period of time. It is an anti inflammatory. Have the vet recheck him asap.
