Let me just clarify something! No one is given free citizenship in this country! You have to first become a permanent resident (green card) then after 3 -5 years of continuous residence and a clean record you may apply to become a citizen! Illegals may get green cards, but that does not make them a citizen. All green card holders are NOT citizens! Citizenship is only given to people who want to become citizens! Immigrants who respect the constitution and who really truly love this country! I am a legal immigrant who once held a green card but I'm now a naturalized citizen who was awarded a certificate of naturalization and a passport! There is also a civics test and an oath of allegiance at a naturalization ceremony!

The answer is not connected to whether a person wants to be an American Citizen but rather connected to diversity. America should never become a population that is dominated by another culture of any kind except American. I love diversity and encourage it and prefer living in it and welcome the citizenship of everyone that represents the development of that diversity but dominance I would veto everytime whether they want to desperately become American Citizens or not.

till you particularly renounced your Russian citizenship you're nonetheless a citizen of Russia and are allowed to flow into Russia as a citizen! i'm not sure in case you have a Us or Russian Passport yet you will get the two in case you pick, I even have twin citizenship US and Canada and have the two passports which might make issues lots much less complicated while travelling

I am from Canada and I really want to be a U.S. citizen, and I like the USA and I think it's a great country. I want to move there but legally of course! I think those Mexicans should all be sent BACK to where they came from because they just walked right into the USA and they expect the American people to worship them. They should never be given a U.S. citizenship, because they are not true honest people!

Unfortunately... no... we just can't allow *everyone* on the planet that wants to come here to become citizens. Not enough room. It would be better to work towards improving the rest of the world so that people could enjoy our freedoms and opportunity at home rather than having to come here to do that.

ONLY to a person who has come here legally and followed the guidelines. A person who comes here illegally though ... NO WAY. They need to be sent back, but also our companies need to STOP hiring them, and the companies who do should report them or dump them back at the border.

Nope make them work for it so it means something to them. That is one of the problems with this culture. Too much of an entitlement mentality.
