Why should I believe the bible is the word of god...?

I was raised in a Christian church and went to their schools for most of my life.
I asked that same questions and one similar to it most of my life. I never got an answer.

However, in the past 6 years I began to study the Bible and to follow what was written. I found that by faith we are saved among many other things.
I have seen changes in myself these last few years that I cannot believe. I am not the same person that I was. The Word of God (the Bible) has changed not only my life but it has changed me. And it is all for the better.

I hope and pray that you will pick up the Bible and begin to study it not just read it, but truly study the Word. Ask questions and ask God for His Spirit to guide you.

Peace and Grace
David

It is not. The original was the word of God but it has been mutilated beyond repair by so called asoptles throughout the ages. That is the reason why God sent down Prophet Muhammad and the Quran to Humanity to correct what was deliberately or non deliberately done to pervert His Words and to complete His Words as was sent to the prophets of old, from Adam, Noah, David, Abraham, Mosses and Jesus (peace be upon them)

i don't know if the bible was written by inspiration from god but what i know is that the church told for over 200 years that the earth was the center of the universe, and people believed, they kill in the name of god, Christianity has killed more people than satanist by far, i do believe that we where created by a higher being of course we did not came from nothing, the church and the government now hide from us that the universe is full of life and that there is others that live and travel the galaxy, but many people is so brain washed that still believe that 100 billion stars where made just for earth,Christianity and other religions are scare to death to say that there is life in other planets ,just imagine the chaos, millions of people leaving churches, and millions more questioning the governments why they make us believe in this system of self destruction, millions more emigrating to others planets and reaching to the stars, the system will have to change and we would have to blend into a global government because we would have to deal with others as one. can you imagine that , what if they tell us that we are their product and they are glad to see us grow and that there are many other races and creatures in the universe the "word of god" is just to keep us in check.

The best thing for you to do is to study bible prophecy, and the history of the bible and its accuracy there is much information in the bible to prove its accuracy, even such things as the earth being rounded, written long before science ever proved it.

Then you can make your own decisions based on what you find. Unfortunately most of today’s religions do not advocate a deep study of the bible, perhaps because it would expose all of the false teachings many of which are of pagan origin.

I don't like the word should since it implies that you are being obligated to believe. Faith or belief in God is a choice you make
not because you fear Hell but because you can't imagine spending eternity without the God who is Love and loves you unconditionally. If God is all knowing and loving then it really would follow that He would want to communicate with the creation that He made in His image. I don't find that a stretch. I would say read and study the Word , consult with others who are knowledgeable, and then make your decision.

Christians be live there is a virtue called "faith" and their religion is based on it. Faith is the base of believing the bible and if you don't have it, then it's simply a book of fairy tales, which is partially the truth.

OTOH, not everything in the bible is word of God, as it's mostly narrations of some people's versions of encounters with God and his influence on certain events. Bible was written as an ancient evidence of those who believed in God in early times.

You shouldn't believe the bible. You believe it or not. Period. If you don't, yo won't burn in hell, btw.

The bible is not the word of God. The word of God became flesh, so that would be contradictory. How could the bible become flesh? The word, is the logos the intenton of God.

John.1

The steps that make logical sense to me, start without a presumption that the Bible is the word of God. Rather, the reliability of the Bible is examined as a historical source. It testifies to a man named Jesus who claimed to be sent from God, to be God, and to speak the words of God. The internal evidence in the Bible and the external evidence are enough to make me believe that it is more credible to believe Jesus' claims about himself than to disbelieve

Good question. God did not write the bible. Heck, Jesus himself didn't even write in the Bible. Other people did. Hence it is not the Word of God. I think the Bible should be redefined as the word of the people who thinks that they know God. But many forget that God is un-knowable.

Am a Hindu .. any how i don't think about God.... if we want to say a good think or an advice to a person , we can just say but its not sure that we will reach our goal.. but if we say it as a God words confidently every one accept because of the God fear.

because of this we use God's name everywhere ..

don't think about who said... just take the message from the words.. it should direct you to the right way

thank you
