Well I'm a kid and my uncle hit me and my brothers but my mom (when I thought she was looking away) called the cops and now the person is in jail.
My question to you is, what would you do if your uncle or one of your brothers/sibblings was abusing your children?

Depending on why and how he hit you and your brothers would determine how I personally would react.
However, having suffered abuse as a child myself, I would NOT tolerate anyone actually abusing my children. The least of that person's worries would be jail time.
Your mother did the right thing. If she felt that your uncle hitting you was over the top and she couldn't handle the situation herself, she SHOULD have called the police.

I guess it depends on what you did and the type of abuse. If my brother were to abuse as in beat my children I would probably make him stay away and call the cops. If he spanked or punished my child I would be okay with that if it was appropriate. Same goes if it were my own uncle... which wouldn't try and hurt me.

Personally, the cops wouldn't be coming to take him away, the coroner would. NOBODY is allowed to touch my kids in that way. I live with my brother in law (well he lives with us) and he knows better than to even speak a word of reprimand, because this is my house and my children. To answer your question I would be furious, I agree with your mom calling the police, and I am hoping this man will not be allowed around you again.

I would definetly call the cops but if they didn't get there quick enough I would be the one that would be going to jail. That would go for my brothers,sisters, moms dads, complete strangers, doesn't matter, Don't mess with my kid.

How hard did he hit you?
because depending on the situation I would tell him not to hit my kids and let me know when my kids do something bad and I will deal with it
If he was abusive then I would press charges but it really depends on the situation

call the police and dept of children and families childabuse hot line because it is your duty to keep your child safe and be their voice!
as a kid, your brothers are kids too, then just tell mom and let your parents decide the conquences, grownups has no business of hurting kids!

I would do exactly what your Mom did. My children come first and they are vulnerable so it is my job to protect them.
I'm sorry your Uncle did that to you and your brothers. I hope you are okay now and I'm glad to know your Mom has the instinct to protect you guys first and foremost!

Someone would have to pull me off of him. No one hits my child, even as a form of discipline. I can honestly say I would probably wind up in jail, as a direct result of whatever I did to the person.

I'd call the cops too. That is called abuse or assault. you mom did the right thing. I support zero tolerance for abuse.
