well either you are ashamed of the boy, or your friends are shallow rsoles, or you dont like the boy. I think when you realise this you will know what to do.

My so called best friend got ahold of my crush's phone number and called him 12 times telling him all about me(she even started singing!) . not only did it ruin my chances with him it ruined my rep because he was "popular" and "cool" but so was i but that is not a cool thing to do. it also almost ruined our friendship. tell them to shut up and if they don't just stop hanging out with them until they get the piont. Luckly i got my rep, my friends, and a new, hotter guy back but u may not be that lucky. Good luck and i feel 4 u. :P

Stress how important it is for him not to know. Tell them in a serous voice that you really don't want your crush to know. When they hint him don't do anything that would lead your friends to think its a game. You may even want to get mad at them so they realize how important it is. (<-- This depends on your friends. It only works for certain types.) But sometimes it works out that your friends tell him and he likes you back. If it happened like me you'll end up going out and falling in love.
