I'm interested in image editing and i hear photoshop is great but i don't have the money, i would appreciate it if someone could tell me about a freeware(free software) that is somewhat close to Photoshop.

Gimp is good, but it may or may not suit your particular needs and skill level. Here is a list of completely free programs available for download online. I recommend you try a few and see what you like!
