Well, while reading this, you said that you thought she looked really great so you told her she looked hot. For a guy's standpoint, if a girl tells him he looks hot, then you have made his day!! Am I right? From a girl's standpoint, telling her she looks hot over a cup of coffee isn't the best idea. Coffee is meant for catching up with the lame fraze's "What have you been up too?" "Remember that time?" "You look good!" You look hot should be at places like clubs. Now, just call her, play it safe, try joking around, and if she asks you about it or is still awkward, then just tell her your sorry if you offended her. Good luck!

I have a friend that tells me I look hot when he thinks pretty, and I know where he stands. If you hadn't seen her in a while she might take it the wrong way, which it sounds like she did. Next time I'd say, "You know, you look really good since the last time I saw you"...I dont know if it'll make THAT much of a difference. The next time you see her, and if things are still awkward, I'd maybe bring it up and apoligize for making her feel uncomfortable, and that you meant that you just looked really great. That'll probably not get her thinking you are into her, and not crush her ego too much. Good luck!

Some women, especially over 25 get offended when a guy says that. They instantly think the guy wants them sexually or if they are more on the quiet side, feel uncomfortable. Just to be safe Id stick with "You look really nice" Its not that you did something wrong, you were just being honest. Id just come out and tell her that you are sorry if you made her uncomfortable and that you dont think of her in "that" way. All you were trying to say is that she looked pretty and sorry if you upset her in any way. Trust me she will be happy that you cleared that up.

Yeah, that wasn't too cool. She would have probably thanked you and really appreciated it if you told her that she looks very nice and maybe said something like "that shirt goes so well with your hair/eyes/etc". The best thing to do now is let it go and maybe a week or two later make a comment similar to what I suggested. Most of all make the compliment sincere and not like "I wanna do ya" kind of comment - tie the comment to her and be specific as to what it compliments on her.

I wouldn't have. Even to the girl who can't stop looking in your eyes , to her you can say she looks lovely. To the girl that has you in the friend or acquaintance mode , she make take your compliment as a sexual intrusion,
It has nothing to do with truth, always know where you stand. You're not the first guy to turn a girl off with his mouth and you won't be the last. Yet a guy she's really into can say it and it would make her blush.
Good luck on your next words

You might have wanted to say wow haven't seen you in awhile you're still beautiful as ever or wow your stunning. saying she's hot is like great is that all you can come up with and probably thinks you just want to sleep with her. It's preety blunt and to the point, woman like when a man can express his feelings a little bit more in depth then ya your hot!

I've never met a girl that didn't like to be told she's pretty. I'm not so sure about hot. And there's a time and place for everything. Maybe your timing was wrong.

OOPS! I think you put your foot in it. You should have said something more neutral such as "you look pretty" but among women even that can be seen as a come on. You should apologize and tell her you only meant to say she looks nice and that you didn't mean to sound forward.

Yes, you should keep your adjectives like "hot" to a minimum. It sounds so "Paris Hilton". Yes, you should have said pretty/nice, or just very attractive. If you're not attracted to her, she probably knows it and that's why she felt weird. Apologize and mind your manners. Godloveya.
