How to connect my computer to my tv?

I have home videos on my computer and i got a S Video cable to plug into my computer and tv and nothing comes up when the source is S video on the tv... what am i doing wrong?

You probably have an older video card that dosen't support multiple displays.

Shut down your PC and unplug the monitor, then plug in your TV, and turn on your PC. That should work.
