Shy girls are know different then anybody else. My current girlfriend is shy, but I'm not shy so when I first met her I started a conversation and realised that she was the quiet shy type, but I liked her so I kept the conversation going and got her number...I called her 2 days later and we talked on the phone, and then I just said "so when are we going out" and now we are.
So yes guys do like shy girls and yes they ask them out...its not about being shy it's about who you are...if you are a good person, and a guy likes you he'll ask you out if your shy or not...noow the only problem you might run into is if he is shy as well, then you both can like each other as much as you want but until someone makes the first move then it will never happen!
Also, you should try to open up a bit, not becuase of guys, but because life is short and you need to enjoy every moment of it...and sometimes being shy does cause you to miss out on some things...so work at it for you!

Yes guys like shy girls. It does not mean you can not flirt being shy. Some guys feel special when a shy girl takes interest in them. Just think of it as a game. Your not committed to marriage if you flirt or take an interest in a person. You just might end up with a friend.

I like shy girls, because it shows feminimity. Men are the ones who are supposed to be assertive and take control of the situation. I don't find it attractive when the girl calls all the shots, because it makes her seem less feminine. A girl who is shy is not a problem unless all the guys are shy too, but there are plenty of men who will like her and make the first move. Let's face it: if a girl is pretty, it doesn't matter how much she talks or how clever she is, a man will talk to her, and will ask her out if he feels like it. Men, on the other hand, must work on overcoming shyness if they want girls. For women though, it is not a problem, unless perhaps if you have social anxiety and avoid being in the presence of other people. Just make sure you put yourself out there, so to speak, but don't worry about being too shy. You might be able to improve your situation and make a first move on some guy you like, but, like I said, being shy does not decrease your attractiveness. If anything it makes you more attractive.

When a girl is much shyer than the guy, it makes it easier for him to ask him out. Personally, I'm not as attracted to shy girls, because it makes it harder for me to get to know them.

You can be shy all you want as long as you're willing to put out and not make fun of his small package to all your friends.
