This is also called resting in the Spirit. A person or persons are praying over you laying their hands on your forehead usually.
Sometimes they have the gift of tongues and pray in a foreign language. At some point you will feel a pulse of energy, like a healing warmth throughout your body. Your body totally relaxes and you rest or fall backwards into the arms of others who gently ease you to the ground. You are totally conscious but relaxed as you lay on the ground. There is a profound sense of peace, although some people have healing tears. You arise when you are ready, usually 2-5 minutes. Again there are people there to assist you to make sure you are steady enough to stand. During this process the Holy Spirit is working within you to heal those areas that need to be healed.

If feels like being born. So it must hurt pretty bad because most babies cry when they come out of their mothers.

So when you are born for the second time your spirit comes back to life.

John.3
[3] Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
[4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
[5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
