Two of the world's largest bodies of fresh water - the Aral Sea, in southern Russia, and Lake Chad, in north-central Africa - are drying up, and what's left of them is pretty well polluted. Some scientists believe that they are beyond saving. Why should this matter to Americans?

I think is important because we are the only ones that can make some sort of difference and make the situation better. Think of all of the organisms and other living beings that must live in this system. It is up to humans to make things better so the ecosystem can survive and thrive.

Because What happens in one part of The world WILL have an effect on th world at hole why are people so stupid that that thinks a boarder or different region of this planet stop separate it self from somewhere or something else. ITS ONE PLANET PEOPLE!!!

because pollution to that extent is bound to effect us here in the United States.

actually its world problem but because america is the father of all nation they are the one leading the process of saving it.
