I want to learn how to give myself pep talks or basically to think positive and count my blessings instead of my troubles.

I tend to think negative a lot and look at what is wrong in my life instead of things that are going well. I wonder if there is an easy way to change your pattern of thinking.

Currently, I have a job that I don't like, am not that happy living with my parents, constantly worry about my daughter who is 14 and living with her Dad in another state, and feel sad because I am divorced.

I know that there is some positive in my life - I have parents that support me, I have my health, I have a job and am earning some money, am in contact with my daughter and am financially okay.

How do constantly remind myself of these things? My natural tendency is to look down at myself and feel like a failure.

Think on what so ever things are true, honest, lovely of good report.
Look in the mirror each morning, and look yourself dead in the eye, and confirm your positive thoughts.
ex. I am beautiful... say it with confidence and mean it, say it over and over, you will burst out grinning, it is silly but it works.
Also speak positive, the power of life and death, come from the mouth!

We all fail in something it's the getting back up part that tends to be ignored, first focus on the positive, what makes you happy where do you see your self in five years or a year. What steps do you need to accomplish this goal, or you can meditate relieve your mind of all outside influences and let your body become clear and conscious of what you need to do with your life to pull it back in place, get rid of any negativity that can stunt yourgrowth and be a man and man up "I never knew a wild thing that felt sorry for it self a bird will drop dead in the freezing winter before once it ever fel sory for it self" - G.I. Jane. Look for quotes that inspire you that was an example not a bashing or you could go to counseling seek a professional and get some medication, I personally don't recomend the medication, but I do think that counceling can help on many levels.

Look at yourself in the mirror & out loud, say the positive things you see in yourself. Write them down; post them around your home. Do this daily until you believe you're worth all the love & encouragement you can get.
