a six pack is a function of aerobic activity...moving your body to burn off the fat layer that is closest to the skin. Can you see that doing exercises aimed at only sculpting the body will not be effective if you still have the fat layer just under your skin. Aerobics burns the fat off...step classes, walking,spinning, dancing. Wear a pedometer and walk 10,000.00 steps each day.
have your BMI evaluated...body mass index ...usually at a gym. You will see how much fat you are carrying and how much muscle you are carrying. When you redure the real estate your fat takes up, the muscle moves in to take its place and you have a more efficient body under your skin. Take a body sculpting class, eat clean food, no junk, less sugar, less sauces, dressings, move your body every single day and do ab exercises. Be fit all over.
If you can, go to a good gym. Not all gyms are good. Some people don't really educate themselves or use old information when they train. Find a gym at a university or hospital and pay for a triner for at least one session. By an exercise video and follow it everyday...maybe Core Secrets with Brooke Burke.

sit ups are a good way to get a six pack
you can also go to a gym and they have a whole mess of exercise machines that can help you get a six pack
but getting a six pack just doesnt happen over night you have to keep working on it till you like the way it looks

Well, you're a woman, so you probably eat too much. Stop that. Then, you need to start exercising. But don't get a personal trainer, because you'll just fall in love with him and then start eating to cope when you find out he's gay. It's a vicious cycle, really. Afflicts 92% of all women in this country. That's why we have so many fatties around here and not enough girls worth my time.
Also, it sounds like you're fat, and you're typing at the computer instead of exercising. An obvious correlation right there, I'd say.
Purging? Not a bad idea. Keep it in mind.

I like six pack abs. If you don't have one, that's completely fine, but there should be some muscle there, not just skin and bones or flab. I guess it's just the fact that the guy cares enough about his body and outward appearance and that turns a lot of us girls on. Good luck! ;-)

anything really. just stay on a diet and keep it up. if you dont give up or cheat you can do it trust me i got one just doing sit up crunches and walking every other day starting off slow then increasing my pace and amount every week.
